The Al-Khasneh rock-cut Nabataean tomb at Petra in Jordan is contemporary with the above wall-painting in cubiculum M of Villa P. Fannius Synistor at Boscoreale, the Al-Khasneh tomb is one of many in Petra that use the broken pediment form in conjunction with tholos imagery, thus confirming their funerary status.
